Allas Pool evolves: the new Allas Pool II to rise in Helsinki’s South Harbour

Allas Pool, located in the heart of Helsinki, is set to expand and undergo renewal as part of the South Harbour development project. The City of Helsinki has granted Nordic Urban a development reservation for the upcoming Allas Pool II project at the current site.

Since opening in 2016, the marine bathhouse has become one of Helsinki’s most vibrant hotspots, welcoming around 800,000 visitors annually. As the current facilities are reaching capacity, the planned expansion will provide more space and an even better customer experience.

Existing services will remain, complemented by new ones. Allas Pool II will take the concept to the next level. Plans include an expanded sauna world and pool area, a brand-new indoor bathing area, and versatile concert and conference spaces for year-round events.

The new venue will be carefully integrated into the surrounding urban landscape, preserving the iconic sea and city views. The project’s estimated budget is €65 million.

To ensure the highest-quality concept for this iconic location, an international architecture competition will be launched this year.
